Guests to The Oread will soon experience a change in culinary direction as its recently hired Executive Chef Brad Brown prepares to roll out a new menu that can be customized to accommodate both casual and fine dining experiences.

Brad Brown

Brown came to The Oread from the National Golf Club of Kansas City in Parkville, Kan. Prior to that, he had worked for Wichita Country Club and Westin Crown Center. His experience at those multi-million facilities makes Brown well-qualified to lead The Oread’s catering, fine dining and banquet services.

“Guests to our property can expect superb dining experiences, creative flavors and new dishes coming out of our kitchen,” said Nancy Longhurst, The Olivia Collection General Manager. “Industry insiders in Kansas and Missouri tell us we’ve made a ‘very special hire in Brad’ and we certainly think so too. It’s just a matter of time before all of Lawrence knows it.”

Brown supervises The Oread’s culinary team who work together to create dishes using locally sourced ingredients, including a soon-to-be-planted herb garden on the 5th Floor Terrace. Brown also oversees the hotel’s banquet events, wedding receptions and restaurants and ensures the highest quality product in all of hotel’s culinary efforts.
