LAWRENCE – Join Tenants to Homeowners and the Lawrence Public Library for a one-time public screening of Arc of Justice.

Tracing the remarkable journey of New Communities, Inc. (NCI) in southwest Georgia, Arc of Justice is a story of racial justice, community organizing, and perseverance in the face of enormous obstacles. NCI was created in 1969 in Albany, Georgia by leaders of the Civil Rights Movement, including Congressman John Lewis, and Charles and Shirley Sherrod, to help secure economic independence for African American families.  For 15 years, NCI cooperatively farmed nearly 6,000 acres, the largest tract of land in the United States owned by African Americans at the time, but racist opposition prevented them from implementing plans to build 500 affordable homes as part of their community land trust.

Following the film screening TTH will facilitate a panel discussion: “Affordable Housing and Inclusive Communities” with local panelists Ursula Minor (Lawrence NAACP), Ben MacConnell (Justice Matters), Jennifer Ananda (City of Lawrence), Matthew Faulk (Bert Nash), Randal Jelks (KU American Studies), and Rebecca Buford (Tenants to Homeowners).

  1. A person essentially help to make significantly articles I’d state.
This is the very first time I frequented your website page and to this point?

the blog. Any feed-back would be greatly appreciated.

  3. Thanks for enabling me to gain new suggestions about personal computers. I also possess the belief that one of the best ways to help keep your laptop in leading condition is by using a hard plastic-type case, or shell, that suits over the top of one’s computer. Most of these protective gear usually are model precise since they are manufactured to fit perfectly over the natural housing. You can buy all of them directly from owner, or through third party places if they are designed for your mobile computer, however don’t assume all laptop may have a cover on the market. Yet again, thanks for your recommendations.

  6. I believe everything posted was very reasonable. But, what about this?

suppose you were to write a killer post title?

I mean, I don’t want to tell you how to run your blog, however what if you added a post
title to maybe grab people’s attention? I mean 2019-02-01 Arc of Justice Affordable Housing and Inclusive Communities is
a little boring. You should look at Yahoo’s front page
and see how they write article titles to get people interested.
You might add a video or a related pic or two to get people interested about what you’ve got to say.
In my opinion, it would make your posts a little bit more interesting.
